Our Grow & Glow Events in 2009
THE BIG BREAKFAST, 12 FEB 2009
The annual Big Breakfast, a combined meeting of several BNI chapters at the same venue, arrived this year with a Big Bang!
Pinnacle Chapter turned out in Full Force, taking up 3 tables at the hotel of choice! Networking was the word of the day, with meeting proceedings only beginning 45mins later at 830am.
In spite of its longevity, Pinnacle Chapter was quite clearly still a force to be reckoned with. Other than the impressive turn out, our President was also the most handsome of the 7 on stage. (Steven, I kept my promise to mention you.=) )
In terms of referrals generated and revenue created for the members, Pinnacle's numbers were also outstanding, even when pitted against other chapters.
The day's events took a little longer than usual to end, but for every Pinnaclite, attending a combined meeting really opens the eyes and reminds us why we joined BNI Pinnacle in the first place.
Coz we Walk the Talk!
LO HEI CELEBRATIONS, 30 JAN 2009
What better way to start the New Year than to engage in a round of unbridled and unrestrained Lou Hei at our favourite Yum Cha Restaurant! The first few members who arrived at the restaurant did so quietly, lest the staff at the restaurant recognised them as the rowdy bunch they were last year.
But by the time everyone arrived, it was another boisterous Pinnacle event! Stories of Little Nonya abound, which seamlessly evolved into a reminiscence of shows from the good old days like M.A.S.H, The Green Hornet, The Awakening... (It was clear from the shows mentioned how... ermm... mature some of the members really were...)
The highlight was of course the Lou Hei, with everyone ACTIVELY engaged in tossing for good luck, with some members tossing for distance! Just like last year, and the year before, there was more food on the table top than in the plate.
With the amount of energy (and wit- Yes Greg, we're talking about you) going around the table, it is no wonder Pinnacle is THE most Steadfast BNI chapters in Singapore.
Luck and Prosperity. Some people hope and wish for them.
Here at Pinnacle, we create them!
Huat Ah!
Our Grow & Glow Events in 2008
2007 was a year of consolidation for Pinnacle Chapter. We took the year to relook into the basics and look forward to growing the Chapter in 2008. For 2008, we began with a combined meeting with Harvest Chapter (18 Jan) and then participated in the BNI Big Breakfast event (30 Jan). We had our own CNY celebrations in the form of a Lo Hei lunch (18 Feb).
COMBINED MEETING, 18 JAN 2008
To kick off our new year, we invited Harvest Chapter to join us for networking and strategic alliance making. For this day, we decided not to invite any visitors so that we can concentrate on getting to know the members from Harvest a little better.
We hope that a closer relationship between members of the two Chapters will result in cross referrals recommendation of visitors to each other's Chapter should the place be already taken up by a member.
All in all, we look forward to a day of fellowship and sharing with Harvest Chapter and the photos proved it! Click here for photos of the event itself! A rousing start and members from both Chapters voted to have another one in July 08.
BIG BREAKFAST, 30 JAN 2008
BNI International Week was celebrated in the week of 28 Jan to 1 Feb. The 7 Chapters under the mentorship of Ms Ong Kuan Kuan held their event on 30 Jan at The Gallery, Fort Canning Park, from 7:30am to 10:30am. An upcoming Chapter, Premier, was also invited to observe how chartered Chapters were managed.
Being the oldest and with the most members, Pinnacle was picked to take the leading role in this event! What an honour for the Chapter! The event was conducted in almost the same way as the regular Chapter meeting, except for the size and a few special events.

The cost to join the event was S$25 for invited guests and S$30 for walk-in visitors. We had the most guests - 20 - at the event. May we perform even better next year!
LO HEI CELEBRATIONS, 18 FEB 2008
The Chapter celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Rat with a Lo Hei at the Yam Cha Restaurant. It was a joyous and boisterous occasion, with the gaiety of the members deafening out the general hubbub of the restaurant. Perhaps we will not be welcome in this place for the next year's Lo Hei!
Many members came ready for the expected strip show to be put on by one of the younger and more handsome member but unfortunately the presence of too few ladies meant that the show would not have been much appreciated by the male members. It was decided to postpone the event until such time as there was a prepondence of lady members in the Chapter. So guys! Go out and recuirt!
Pinnacle Visitor Day, 11 July 2008
Pinnacle Visitor Day is a half yearly event where we, the members, will be inviting over 40 guests to visit our chapter on this day. This invitees are not just staffs from any company but they are real true blue business owners who want to find out more, just like you do, on how Pinnacle is still standing strong after so many years.
Highlights of the event can be seen here.

VISITORS' DAY, 24 Aug 2007
Joining us is easy; particularly if your trade or profession is not represented in our chapter. On that note, we invited 43 visitors to network and mingle with us!
It was a lively event, and there was also some memorable moments when the food caddy caught fire during the Showcase Presentation by our General Insurance member. Garion was then talking about fire insurance! The Chapter managed to grow by 1 member as a result of this event.
KARAOKE NIGHT, 7 Sep 2007
Rusty vocals and long hair were widely displayed during the session. Many members were showing their hidden talents in crooning, singing and in some cases, sounded like shouting!
Whatever the singing prowess or lack of, the members had a good time and a small group hanged around till the end of time!
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS, 21 DEC 07
We picked 21 Dec to celebrate Christmas! Yes, it's a bit too early for snow but then some people had frost on their faces! Althought there were no alcohol, there were no shortage of people lettiing their hair down or people deciding to show their footwork!
Games were played; gifts exchanged. But at the end of it all, members realised that all the meetings and close interactions have yielded benefits they were not aware of - bonding and a camaradie seldom experienced in other groups they have joined. And several members pledged to work towards bringing the Chapter to 30 members!

And last but not least, the Chapter has to thank 3 members who put in lots of hours to coordinate and organise this highly successful event. Their efforts - Eric Cheong, Vincent Chow and Boonk Lim - were instrumental in a high enjoyable, participative and memorable morning. Thank you guys!
